I am one of the original creators of Social Southie – a South Boston-based community organization. In late 2012, several Southie ladies sat down and talked about the need for an entry-level organization for new and young adult residents in Southie. We wanted to create an organization that would establish community among the “yuppies,” as they’re called in Southie, and also provide access for them to create relationships with other established organizations in South Boston. In turn, Social Southie also provides a conduit for communication from the larger Southie community to new and younger residents. I continue my involvement remotely, I facilitate their digital media development and branding, including logo design, and I share their commitment to fostering community and philanthropy in South Boston, MA.
